Information from unpublished Margaret Carpenter catalogue by Richard J Smith, 1995.
Oil of canvas. 30x25". Attribution definite. Cust p.51. Sitters Book: 1853 Mr Wilder £31.10.6. [M53007] Although this is very late for an Margaret Carpenter Leaving Portrait, and the sitter was not a pupil of Coleridge, Margaret Carpenter had known the family since the early 1820s. She painted his father in 1829. The amount of this payment suggests there may be another one missing. Not seen.
