Copied by Russian artist Vasily Smirnov (born 1975) in 2006, from the original portrait by Edward Patry (1856-1940).

[Note: See file for a vignette on the sitter by the sitter's nephew.]
The sitter was in Booker's House, Eton, at the outbreak of the 1st World War. He took up his brother's commission in the Essex Yeomanry but died at Frezenberg Ridge near Potijze outside Ypres on May 13th 1915.
