[Translates as: 'Known to and beloved by his fellow Etonians, here rests Arthur Campbell Ainger, M.A., who spent his years at Eton - seven as a pupil, 38 as a master, and 18 as a private tutor. He brought renown to Eton through his writings and verse. He died at Eton on October 27, 1919, in his 79th year.']
