Large abstract sculpture in green that looks like a head; sits upon a black base
Comments
This late sculpture was a favourite of Merchant’s and was part of his own collection. The monumental head, gazing to the right, has some affinities with those of Easter Island. As with all of Merchant’s work, the choice of stone is particularly appropriate. The texture of serpentine has a beauty of its own.
