Title
Founder's Statue: King Henry VI
Description
Bronze cast statue of the figure of a king with marble plinth and iron railings
Comments
The Founder's Statue cost £443 17s. 11s. (The invoice is in the collection of the Buckinghamshire Archaeological Society). The eight sturdier balusters within the railings that surround the sculpture are very similar to those that surround the copy of Francis Bird's statue of Queen Anne, outside the main entrance to St Paul's Cathedral (the original version of Queen Anne, made in 1712, is now at The Ridge in Hastings).
