Comments
Label in the MEL states: From the 1880's to 1900's, it was fashionable to have a bamboo table and basketwork chair, made more comfortable with cushions from home. This one belonged to F.P.M. Hervey-Bathurst (at Eton 1916-1917). When his son brought it to Eton in 1933, it was confiscated as a symbol of decadence.
