Label in the MEL states: This burry (a variation on ‘bureau') a combined desk and bookcase, is believed to be from the early 20th century, and was used by Nicholas Ansdell-Evans (King's Scholar) during his time in College. When he left school in 1989, College was installing new burries in the boys' rooms, and the Matron-in-College offered him his to keep. Well-used and much-loved, the burry has recently been donated back to the Museum of Eton Life by Mr Ansdell-Adams.
