English 16th century light brown calf; blind tooled frame using decorative fillet of heads in medallions (see Oldham, English blind-stamped bookbindings, no. 783) and triple fillet; silver stamped armorial stamp of Eton College; traces of clasps and holes for chains; blind tooled single fillet on board edges; blind tooled spine with double fillet, and single fillet on raised bands, with panels of cross-hatching at head and tail; pale red morocco spine label with gold tooled letters; six raised bands.
