Copy 2: Inscription on front pastedown: Richd. Broadley Eton: Coll= January : 1791. Richard Broadley (1774-1800) went from Eton to King's College, Cambridge, then became a curate at Prior's Portion in Tiverton, but died the following year.
Copy 2: Armorial bookplate of Alexander Meyrick Broadley (1847-1916), dated 1895.
Copy 1: 18th century brown sheep binding; five raised bands; cord sewing supports; red sprinkled edges.
Copy 2: Contemporary mid brown tree calf; gold tooled line and dot roll on board edges; gold tooled decoration including flower and 'antique' ornaments on spine; black morocco spine label with gold tooled letters and double fillet; deckled edges.
