Contemporary English mid-brown calf, probably an 'Eton binding'; three alternate gold tooled and blind tooled single fillet borders, with small gold tooled flower fleurons at each corner; blind tooled single fillet on board edges; traces of holes for ties and plate for chain; gold tooled double fillet on spine; red sprinkled edges.
Contains three pages of manuscript tables of astronomical calculations, red ruled, for the years 1637 to 1646. Bound into front of volume.
