Mid 17th-century light brown calf over pasteboard, probably bound in England. On both covers, two concentric frames of blind triple fillets (thin-thick-thin) joined at corners; the same triple fillet pattern tooled diagonally at inner corners of central compartment; additional double fillets (thin-thin) within the frame, and at inner corners of central compartment. Spine rounded with recessed supports; divided into eight compartments by transverse fillets and a small ornamental roll; headbands of alternating blue and plain thead. Board edges tooled with a gilt dotted roll. Textblock edges trimmed, rounded, and sprinked red. Endpapers at upper end of a single bifolium, undecorated, comprising a pastedown and free endpaper; endpapers at lower end of the same paper, but with nine free endpapers.
