Publisher's dark brown buckram case binding. Upper cover embossed with in blind and silver with night-time scene of Gray's tomb at Stoke Poges; outer border of a silver frame. Spine flat, French-grooved, with silver titling ("Elegy written in a country church-yard"). Endpapers comprising a single bifolium of plain white paper (pastedown and free flyleaf). Housed in publisher's case dark blue buckram case with silver titling as on book.
Bookseller's printed particulars loosely inserted; price on upper flyleaf recto. Another code (of the same seller?) on lower flyleaf verso.
