Binding

Mid-18th-century speckled brown calf over pasteboards, sewn on four supports (of which, two laced into boards). On both covers, an outer border of gilt double fillets, intersecting at corners; medium squares, board edges tooled in blind with a foliate roll. With rounded with four raised bands, tooled aside with gilt double fillets, the same at head and tail; endbands of alternating ?brown and plain thead. Textblock trimmed and sprinkled red. Endpapers comprising leaves of plain laid paper (pastedown and flyleaf).
