Content description
Petition of Robert Vyse, monk of Bath, to the Bishop of Bath and Wells. As prior of the church of St George of Dunster, he has the right to present monks to the cell there, and the Prior of Bath can remove them. John Henton, a monk of the order, refuses to return to Bath in spite of repeated admonitions and Vyse appeals to the Bishop to order Henton to return, to prevent the lay patron from supporting him, and restore the profits of the cell.
