The manor of Eton may have been owned by the College during the 15th century but subsequently (presumably after Edward IV's resumptions) was lost to it. In 1943 the College purchased the manor from Mrs Pole-Wynn.

Content description

The papers are mainly title deeds rather than manorial records, although clearly transferred on purchase. They include details of mortgages of the estate, annuities granted from it, and marriage settlements for the Penn and Stuart families.

Provenance

The papers appear to have been transferred from the lawyers Farrer & Co.
