This vicarage belonged to the alien priory of Lyminster, a cell of the abbey of Almeneches, which was granted to the College by Henry VI in 1441. The grant was confirmed by Edward IV in 1462. The Bishop of Chichester nominated and in 1951 the advowson was transferred to him.
