May be able to offer Mr Ashfield a living, though he may not wish to accept as it is only £200 with no house, near the Bank. Prince of Wales has forbidden Windsor Canons to sit under banners. Shells. The Princess Elizabeth is to be married to the Prince of Hesse Homburg. Terrible fog. 'Rob Roy falls very short of the author's previous publications but parts of it are admirably written'. Comments at length on Godwin's new novel [Mandeville]. Boys who dined at the Lodge on Sunday say Mr Knapp is to be married. Alterations to new street going on rapidly; Regent's Street; St James's Square now enclosed so less of a thoroughfare. When the Duke of Wellington came to Eton and was thanked for the promise of his picture, a copy of the portrait by Lawrence, he said he would not present a copy but sit for a new one. Sorry that Bullock's Museum does not answer; Bullock anxious to produce a less interesting display of English fruits and their branches. Ashfield will be able to obtain a licence of non-residence but under the new acts will have to pay a curate £150. PLACE: [London]
