Dr Roberts and Dr Heath are dead; the former will be missed but of the latter 'few beyond his own family will lament his decease'. Unless a Fellow makes a personal choice of Sturminster Marshall it is for William's son Mat. Gross value not less than £900, with a very good thatched house, but three churches so two curates will be needed. House called Bayley; some manorial rights. Will have the presentation made out before the new Fellows are elected. Very low in the Windsor option lists. Will now have a coach house at Windsor as he is now 6th canon. Mr Bethell will take the Burnham living. Mrs Hexter the dame has also died. Shell purchases and arrangement; Dr Leach's place at the British Museum vacant; favours Mr Swainson as his successor. Pleased with first numbers of Sowerby's new genera. PLACE: The Lodge, Eton
