Provost Goodall: Letter to William Goodall

Almost determined to take the living of West Ildesley. Was an excellent living but through stupidity at time of enclosure now worth nearly £200 pa less. Busy preparing accounts for Windsor audit; charges sometimes passed too carelessly. Duke of York cannot live; Duke of Cambridge unlikely to want appointment of Commander in Chief, public voice against the Duke of Cumberland, and Duke of Wellington unlikely to receive it as he is not a favourite with the army except in the field.
