Pleased Queen Victoria is not coming to Windsor as it would be inconvenient to be at St George's on Easter Day. 'She seems less a favorite than ever. Too many I fear identify her with her ministers'. Subscription for Forman of Wargrave whose house was burnt down; boy who died a nephew of John Hookham Frere, the anti-Jacobin; his brother an Etonian [Temple Frere]. Great alarm at so many artillery being sent to Weedon Beck; apprehension over Chartists. Queen Victoria and her mother 'not on comfortable terms'; public opinion blames 'petulance' of the Queen.
