Provost Hawtrey: Letter to Richard Wellesley, Marquess Wellesley
Item
11 October 1839
Draft letter to Richard Wellesley expressing his pride and thanks for the "beautiful verses" recently received that he attributes to the "Polished taste and true classical feeling of the Marquess Wellesley". He will add them to the books given two years ago. "It would be impossible to find better arguments against the schemes of innovation and in favour of the Eton system".
