Content description
These papers relate mainly to the appointment of new clergy to College livings and include lists of applicants, testimonials and correspondence with interested parties, as well as detailed descriptions of the livings and their churchmanship.They also include matters relating to patronage in general, eg consent to glebe sales, uniting of benefices and augmentations, and may include parish magazines or pamphlets on the church. Basic administrative work was carried out by the Clerk to the Provost and Fellows and many bundles bear annotations in the hand of Mr.Dyke, but correspondence with Provosts is included, for example with a bishop about a candidate or about a benefice matter.
