Evans protests at letter from Shane Leslie to The Times suggesting that a deputation of Old Etonians should go to the Vatican to request the canonisation of Henry VI and presumes it was written without consulting the Governing Body. Provost replies that there was no consultation. 'I should myself greatly deprecate any attempt to approach the Roman Church - which in this Country I must regard as a schismatical body - about such a matter'.
