Grant by Richard Fortescu, with the consent of his wife Ysmeine and his heirs, of all the land which his uncle Ralph and his father Richard gave, as well as land he himself gave, to the church at Modbury, with meadows he gave before, in return for a gold coin from Laurence the prior of Modbury. Description of the land follows. Warranty clause. Witnesses: Ralph son of Richard, Adam the chaplain of Modbury, John de Shilveston, Philip de Orcherton, William de Cumba, William de Shippeham, Gerard de Moberia and his sons William and Philip, Gilbert de Hugeburga, Robert le Ghest, Philip the chaplain who wrote this document, and others.
