Piddlehinton, Dorset: Bond in £10

Bond by William Lockett of Corsecombe, co. Dorset, clerk, to the Provost and College of Eton in £10 to be paid to the same.
At court held for the manor of Charelton Parva [Charlton Parva] 1 September 1615 the said Lockett was leased for life a tenement in Charlton, and agreed at the same time that a sum of £3 6s 8d should be paid to the said Provost and College in lieu of heriot. The condition of the bond is that if his executors shall pay the said sum within 28 days after his death, then the bond shall be void.
Signatures of Lockett and two witnesses.
Seal, round, red wax, on tongue. Quite flattened.
