Shaftesbury, Dorset: Grant of messuage

Grant by Reginald Stourton, knight and lady Margaret his wife, late the wife of Alexander Hody, knight, to William Stone and Joan his wife, of a messuage with a curtilage adjacent in the parish of the Holy Trinity in the borough of Shaftesbury, lying between a tenement of the commonalty of the borough on the north and a tenement of Richard Godwyn on the south, which the said Alexander and Margaret had been granted inter alia by John Motecombe alias Taylour (see ECR 02 115).
Witnesses: Thomas Pole, mayor of Shaftysbury, John Serle, John Choyll, Philip Godman, Richard Godwyn and others. Shaftysbury.
Two seals, round, red wax, each on a doubled tag.
(1) 15mm, A monster somewhat resembling a centaur (See ECR 02 117 where the impression of the seal is somewhat better).
(2) 9mm, a head cabossed. A legend (?).
