Povington, Dorset: Letters patent

Letters patent granting in frankalmoign to the Provost and College of Eton the farm which John Neweburgh, esquire, renders for the keeping of the manor of Povyngton [Povington] with the appurtenant lands, rents, services, pensions and portions in Melburnebeke [Bere Regis], Turneworth [Turnworth], Charleton upon Upwymborne [Charlton, Upper Wimborne], co. Dorset, and Sopley, co. Southampton, parcel of the sometime alien priory of Okebourne [Ogbourne], committed to the said John Neweburgh from Michaelmas, 28 Henry VI, for seven years, with the reversion of the premises; and the manors of Chysynbury alias Chesyngbury [Chisenbury], co. Wilts, and Querle [Quarley], co. Southampton, late parcels of the said priory and sometime of the abbey of Bec Harlewin [Bec Herluin]. Westminster.
