Indenture of agreement between the Abbot and convent of Bec and Richard de Turri of Bledlow, concerning the wood of Schenholt and Comb, and certain pannage, pastures, assarts, purprestures etc
Two seals, green wax, on doubled tags. The tags separate in the middle of each seal and emerge one on each side of the lower part of the seal 1) Pointed oval, 60mm originally about 65mm, the top slightly chipped. The Abbot, full length, robed, staff in right hand, book in left SIGILLUM HENRICI ABBATIS SCE MARIE BECC Counterseal: pointed oval, 35mm, a similar figure between two stars SCS HERLUINUS ABBA BECCI 2) Round, originally about 70mm, about half missing. The Virgin and Child enthroned. The Child and most of the Virgin survives. Counterseal: Round, 20mm, originally about 30mm, the upper half lost. Head of Abbot and top of staff over his left shoulder.
