Bledlow, Buckinghamshire: Indenture of lease of manor

Indenture of lease by brother Richard de Beausevall, attorney general in England of the Abbot and Convent of Bec Herlewyn [Bec Herlouin], to James Freysel of the manor of Bledelawe [Bledlow] with all its appurtenances, and houseboute and heyboute but excepting the woods which he has kept against the said Abbot; and portions of the tithes of the demesne lands of Robert Mallet in Dyllingdon [Denham in Quainton], of Eleanor de Courteney in Wodesdon [Waddesdon] and Estthorp [Eythrope], and of the prior of Burncestre [Bicester] in Westcote, together with 4 librates yearly rent of the Abbot of Missenden in Brghton [Broughton], co. Bucks; and all tithes belonging to the said Abbot and Convent in the towns of Whitcherche [Whitchurch], Gathamton [Gatehampton in Goring], Retherfeld [Rotherfield], Mapelderham [Mapledurham], Garynges [Goring] and Stokes and portions of Kyngeston [Kingston Blount], except the portion of Henton which dominus William de Leycestre holds in the county of Oxford. To hold for six years from this date. Yearly rent £60 payable at Ruysshelep [Ruislip]. The said brother Richard has delivered to the said James four horses (equos) worth 2 marks, four oxen worth 20s, fourteen cows with one mark apiece; to be restored, with the manor, at the end of the lease.
