Bledlow, Buckinghamshire: Indenture of lease of demesnes and chapel

Indenture of lease upon surrender of his former lease, by the Provost and College to Thomas Spiers of both the demesnes, (site of the manor of Bledlow, coppices etc), and the chapel (of the chapel or chapel house with the backside containing half and acre in Bledlow ridge, a house and close in Bledlow, an acre in the south field and headland there and the church house in Bledlow). For 12 years. Rents 4s 4d and 12 gallons and 1 quart of wheat and 18 gallons of malt for the chapel etc and £5 and 1152 gallons of malt and 216 gallons of wheat and 20 sheep and £20 for the demesne etc, except £31 13s 1d in consideration of redemption of Land tax.
Doubled tag for seal which has been cut away.
On the back of this indenture is an assignment, 29 March 1834, by Joseph James Harper, of Bledlow, esquire, for £500, to John Clarke, of Bledlow, farmer, of the same which has been assigned to his 15 April 1833 by executors of Thomas Spiers and others. Signatures of the parties.
Duplicate seals, rectangular, 13mm, red wax, applied. A profile.
