Lease by John Grove, son and heir of Richard Grove of Grenehith in the parish of Swannescombe [Greenhithe in Swanscombe] co. Kent, gentilman to Edward Westm[inster] of the King's household, armiger, of a close in Eton called Bradneys, extending on the east to le Lymecroft Sherde, on the north to land of the college of St Mary of Eton, on the west to Bardneyslane, on the south to land of lessor: also 2½ acres of meadow in a meadow called le Innyng mede between a meadow of the college on the north and a piece of common land of Eton called Gowforde on the south all of which he inherited of his mother Elizabeth, daughter and heir of Nicholas Whaddon, at a rent for 60 years of 9s. (the lessor to do the service of their chief lords, afterwards of 27s on the same conditions). Witnesses: John Wyght, John Gough, Alex. Smyth, William Sambourn, Reg. Baker.
