Lease for life, by quadripartite charter, by John Towe, of New Windsor, and William Kent, of the same, to Joan, who was the wife of Richard Caperon, of the same, of a grange and croft of land adjacent in Underore in the parish of New Windsor between the garden of Thomas Harpecote and the land of Nicholas Caperon on one side and the dike called Barredich on the other and extending from the King's way to a certain stream called le Millebrok. And grant of a tenement at the end of Mullelane in Underore and 3 acres of arable land lying separately next to Lynhostes, the tenement situated between Mullelane and the messuage of John Milleward and extending from the royal way called Bysshoppesstret to the messuage sometime of John Heued, and the 3 acres lying separately in 2 places next to Lymhostes of which 2 half acres lie together between the land of John Towe and the land of Thomas Harpecote and the other 3 half acres lie together there between the land of Thomas Haprecote on either side. Grant also of a garden and 2½ acres of land lying separately in Underore, the garden lying between le Bocherilane on one side and the dike called le Barredich on the other and extending from the land of Henry Glowcestr' to the messuage of Sir Bawdewyn Berforde, and the 2½ acres lying in 2 parcels in the field called Powkelanestilefurlong of which 3 half acres and 1 rood lie together between the land of Thomas Holbode on one side and the land of Nicholas Caperon on the other and the other 3 roods lie together there between the land of the said Nicholas and the land of Thomas Harpecote. To be held for life, with remainder, as regards the said grange and croft, to Thomas, son of the said Richard Caperon, and his heirs and assigns, and, as regards the tenement at the end of Mullelane and the 3 acres lying next to Lymhostes, to Margaret, a daughter of the said Richard, and her heirs and assigns, and, as regards the garden and 2½ acres, to Alice, the other daughter of the said Richard, and her heirs and assigns.
Witnesses: John Gardiner, Richard Boleman, John Mathew, senior, Walter Wythemay, John Mathew, junior, John Priour, William Coupere, and many others. Given at Windsor, Sunday after the feast of St Gregory the Pope 5 Henry IV.
