Tripartite indenture of 1 June 1547 between the King, of the first part, Edward, duke of Somerset, Lord Protector, Thomas archbishop of Canterbury, Sir William Pawlet, Lord Saint John, John, earl of Warwick, Sir John Russell, Lord Russell, Cuthbert, bishop of Durham, Sir Anthony Browne, William Pagett, Sir Anthony Denny, Sir William Herbert, Sir Edward Montague, Thomas Bromeley, Sir Edward North, Sir Edward Wotton and Nicholas Wotton, executors of the will of King Henry VIII, of the second part, and Robert, bishop of Carlisle and Provost of Eton, of the third part.

On 20 December 1546 the Provost and College granted the King the manor of Clatford, co. Wilts; the manor of Milbornbeck [Bere Regis], the messuage and farm called Milbornbeck in the parish of Bere, a messuage in Torneworth [Turnworth], the meadow called Holme in the parish of Holm, the manor of Lutton, the messuage called Lutton in the parish of Steple [Steeple], the manor of Povington, the messuage called Povington in the parish of Tyneham, co. Dorset; the manor of Enston or Endeston [Yenston] with its appurtenances in Whitchurche and Henxstrige [Henstridge], co. Somerset; a messuage late in the tenure of Thomas Smyth alias Butler and then of John Carter in the parish of Dorney, a tenement in the tenure of John Freend in Lakend in the parish of Burnam [Burnham], tenements in the tenure of John Slipher in Burneham aforesaid, a tenement in the tenure of John Collyns in Lakend in Burnam aforesaid, half an acre of arable in Beverist and half an acre of arable in Mosham and two roods in Otemeshe in Burnam aforesaid, a messuage at the Weke [Eton Wick] in the parish of Eton late in the tenure of John Wanold and then of Robert Saddocke, and a messuage at the Weke late in the tenure of John Butler, a messuage called the Christopher late in the tenure of Henry Spencer in Eton, co. Bucks; two acres and a half of meadow lying at Grogynes Pole, a close of pasture called Parsones Close containing an acre and a half in the tenure of the said Henry Spencer, a messuage late in the tenure of Robert Saddocke, a messuage in Underowe [Underore] in the parish of Newe Windesour [New Windsor] late in the tenure of William Hall and a cottage in Datchet land late in the tenure of Richard Coke, the said messuage and cottage with lands appurtaining being lately called Mr Bostes landes, and the lands called Greneslandes and Romney meades, an acre and three roods of land in the tenure of Nicholas Momford alias Couper, and two closes lately purchased of Richard Fitzwaters and late in the tenure of Andrew Bereman and then of Robert Saddocke; to hold in fee simple upon promise of an adequate recompense to the grantors in lands and rents equal to the foregoing, which was not performed in the lifetime of the said King Henry VIII though the promise was confirmed by his last will and testament. The premises were the yearly value of £73 0s 10½d.

Now, in return for the delivery of all deeds and evidences relating to the premises to the chancellor of keeper of the records of the Court of Augmentations, and for £25 6s 3s, bargain and sale by the King and the Lord Protector and his co-executors to the Provost and College of the parsonage and church of Thurlby, co. Lincoln, lately belonging to the priory of St Michael nigh Stamford, co. Northampton, dissolved, and the parsonage and church of Moche Compton [Long Compton], co. Warwick, late parcel of the possessions of Thomas Cromwell, late earl of Essex, attainted of high treason, and the parsonage and church of Bloxham, late parcel of the possessions of the monastery of Godstowe, co. Oxford, dissolved, and tithes, lands etc, in the tenure of Thomas Jeffray and Alice his wife, in Milcombe, Bloxham, Neunton [Newington], Milton, and Bareford [Barford St John], co. Oxford, late of the said monastery, and the parsonage of Okeley [Oakley] and Bromeham [Bromham], lately belonging to the monastery of Caldwell, co. Bedford, dissolved. To hold in fee simple, in chief, by the fourth part of a knight’s fee. Yearly rent, for premises in Thurlby 36s 10d, Moche Compton 36s, Bloxham, Milcombe, Neunton, Milford and Bareford 52s 4d, Okeley 23s 8d, Bromeham 16s 4d. The yearly value of the premises to be £74 6s 2¼d over and above the said rents. 3s 4d to be paid yearly from the parsonage of Okeley to the bishop of Lincoln for synods and proxies, 2s 6d from the parsonage of Bromeham to the same for the same, and 14s and 2d from the parsonages of Bromeham and Okeley for the same.
