Samuel Stancliffe, Cheapside, to the Rev. Mr Stephen Upman, bursar of Eton College, enclosing "a true account of the tenements belonging to Eaton Colledge in Cheapside and Breadstreete [Bread Street] held by lease to Michael Stancliffe deceased, and now by Samuel Stancliffe, his son".
White Beare Lett for £80 per annum.
Glasiers Lett for £24 per annum without lease.
Naked Boy and Starr Lett for £45 per annum without lease.
Star and Phesant Lett for £12 per annum ground rent about 16 years to come may happily be at £50 per yeare that uncertaine and the utmost.
The Castle Is freehold payes the Colledge £3 per annum. Butt a small part backward on which the kitchin is built stands on the Coledge land and was let to me as £10 per annum rent by my father in lieu of the freehold, cellars and vault under the White Beare laid to that for the accommodation and raising the value therof my father held the same before the fire of the under tennant of esquire Stanley who then the lease for £16 per annum paying for his conveniency soe that now I hope the College will allow it at £10, out of which the Colledge rent £13 6s 8d. A quit rent to the Crowne £1 18s 0d.
