Item

Grant, with the consent of his wife Juliana, by Gilbert de Ovill to Godard the hermit and recluse in the hermitage of St Leonard on the Loddon, and the brothers there, of the land which lies in length between the meadow of St Leonard and the land of the miller of Stamford and in breadth from the ditch by the road to the Loddon, which land is called the Frith (Frithus); together with 6d which John de Port owes for a tenement of land which is contained within Frithus, in frankalmoign free from all secular custom save the reasonable right of the grantor's men whose meadows are next Frithus and the reasonable right of Richard de Trunkewell at his meadow. This gift was made by dominus William de Stutevill, warrantor of the said Godard, who first founded the hermitage and brotherhood, and the said Gilbert concurs in the foregoing grant and confirms also all the grants of his predecessors and of his tenants to the same house, and further one acre upon Folerithe which Godard has of his gift.
