Content description
Release by William de Say of Stratfeld de Say, knight to the abbey of St Mary of Walemont [St Mary Vallemont] and the hermitage of St Leonard of Stratfeld of suit at his court of Stratfeld de Say [Stratfield Saye], which he claimed and was entitled to claim from the monks. For this release brother John de Nevill, then procurator of the said hermitage, and Nicholas de Oruill, his fellow, have paid two marks silver.
Seal, round, 35mm, green wax, on doubled tag, chipped at sides. Armorial: quarterly, first and fourth a sheaf, second and third a fleur de lys.
