Little Tew, Oxfordshire: Letter concerning inclosure
Item
12 June 1793
Samuel Nash, Great Tew, to Rev. Mr Tew, "As the Bill for inclosing the field at Little Tew is now past and everything between the interested parties and the vicar of the parish settled I hope to the satisfaction of all concerned in the hamlet" he requests that, as "the lord of the Manor of Great Tew, in order to make it worth the attention of a clergyman to reside, in addition to what was done by the Colleges, has given £200 to the Governors of the Queen's Bounty, to which they have added £200 more, and the same sum fell to it by lot about 20 years since", - he requests that the College will let him have the opportunity, rather than a stranger, of laying out the sum of £600 in buying land in the common field of Little Tew, as he believes the College means to sell.
