Contemporary copy of Eschaetor's inquisition, taken at Tonbridge 28 July 1525 concerning Lesnes Abbey, suppressed in 1524 at the instance of Cardinal Wolsey. It held the manors of Lyesnes, Fauntes [Fants in Erith], Baudewyns [Baldwins] and Ocholte [Okoltes] and lands and rents in Lysenes Fauntes Baudewyns Erithe Dertford [Dartford] Plomsted [Plumstead] Luddenham and Grenwiche [Greenwich], and a pension of 3s 4d from the prior of Leedes [Leeds], co. Kent, and a yearly rent of 53s 4d issuing from Bedonplace in Erith co. Kent by the hands of William Draper, and the rectories of Newington and Marden formerly granted by the King. The total yearly value of the foregoing was £135 7s.

And copy of inquisition taken at Maidstone, 10 December 1530, concerning the lands held by Cardinal Wolsey, among which were the site of the abbey of Lyesnes, together with the aforementioned lands and rents, and the manors of Begham alias Bayham, Pepynbery [Pembury], Leueshethe [Lewis Heath, Horsemonden] Crambroke [Cranbrook] and Brokley [Brocklwy] Westgrynwiche [West Greenwich], with the advowsons of the churches of Pepynbery. And being so seised on 10 February 1526 he enfeoffed Cardinal College Oxford therewith. The total yearly value of the foregoing is £160.
