Copy of indenture, between John Drilande, of Clerkenwell, co. Middlesex, gentleman, and Martin James, of Smarden, co Kent, esquire, by which the said Drilande assures, by the promise of levying a fine, to the said Janes the lands tenements etc called Howletts which he has conveyed to him. The Provost and Fellows of Eton and the Master and Fellows of St John’s college Cambridge claim certain parcels of land lying within or among the said grounds called Howletts.
