Extract from the account of Thomas Jermyn, eschaetor of Norfolk and Suffolk 17 Henry VIII (1525) for revenues of the late Augustinian nunnery of Wekes [Wix], co. Essex, of which the last prioress, Mary Freningham and her three nuns surrendered their house with all its properties to Cardinal Wolsey, viz for £4 8s 3/4d from the manors of Chettisham [Chattisham] and Swyllond [Swilland] and 100 messuages 1000 acres of arable 2000 acres of pasture 600 acres of meadow 500 acres of woodland 300 acres of marsh and 100s rents in Chettisham, Swyllond, Bliscon [Bildeston], Hintlesham and Washbroke [Washbrook], and 20s for a portion of the tithes issuing from the rectories of Laneham and Preston, co. Suffolk. The prioress and her three nuns have been translated to other houses of the same order. The premises extend to the yearly values of £16; the account covers the period of one quarter and 9 days, viz from 16 August 1525, the date of the eschaetor's inquisition and his taking the lands into the King's hands, to 23 November 1525.
