Cottisford and Fringford, Oxfordshire: Particulars of manor

A particular of the manor of Cotisford [Cottisford].
Attached by a pin is a cutting from a paper of a notice of sale by auction by Mr Barford, at Great Room in Piccadilly, on Friday the 5th of February (1773), punctually at one o'clock, by order of the executors of Mrs Martha Eyre, deceased, of the manor of Cottisford in the county of Oxford, situate in a fine sporting country, abounding with game, near the several market towns of Bicester, Brackley and Buckingham; consisting of about 240 acres of enclosed land, and about 800 acres of common field, with an exceeding good mansion house, with spacious gardens, orchards, dovehouse well stocked, coach house and stables, and all other convenient offices, with several large and small fishponds exceedingly well stocked, one of which covers about fourteen acres of ground; and also a messuage and several pieces of enclosed land, with a watermill and millhouse situate at Fringford, all the premises held by lease from the Provost and College of Eton for 20 years from Michaelmas 1766, and renewable at the expiration of every seven years, subject to a small fine.
