Weedon Bec, Northamptonshire: Report of hearing regarding tenancy
Item
10 February 1824
Report of hearing in Vice Chancellor's court.
Application in the foregoing by plaintiff's counsel that the defendants should be directed to concur in the sale of the estate to pay the arrears of annuities due thereon to the plaintiffs, and that the alleged surrender of 1790 should be declared fraudulent. Defendants' counsel, who stated defendants and brought a cross bill, pleaded negligence on the part of the steward of the manor. The Vice Chancellor said he could do nothing with the case until it was tried by an issue in a court of law whether Mr and Mrs Priestley had a legal title.
