Everdon, Northamptonshire: Appointment of gamekeeper

Appointment by the Provost and College of John Payn, of Fawsley, co. Northants, yeoman, gamekeeper within the manor of Everdon (by virtue of the statutes made for the preservation of game). With full power to hunt, hawk, shoot, fish, fowl, course and kill game, and to seize and destroy all dogs, ferrets, guns, nets and other engines kept for destroying game by unauthorised persons (October 1796).
1 folio bearing impressed revenue stamp for 3s 6d. The document has been used as a draft for a later appointment, viz, of William Russell, of Dedford, as gamekeeper within the manors of Everdon and Weedon (August 1809).
