Blakenham, Suffolk: Indenture of lease of site of manor

Indenture of lease, by the Provost and College, to John Veare the younger, of the site of the manor of Blakenham on the water with all lands pertaining in Blakenham, Baylham and Claydon and elsewhere, co. Suffolk, with all rents, reversions, fishings, fowlings, hawkings and huntings belonging thereto, and a wood called Blakenham Hawle wood containing ten acres, the advowson of the benefice and the keeping of courts and profits therefrom being reserved to the lessors. Including the fulling mill and the reversion of all lands and pastures lately granted by copy of court roll to John Mudd, parcel of the demesne of the said manor. From this date for 21 years. Rent £13 16s 8d and 2 quarters of wheat and 24 quarters of malt or their money equivalent, and one boar at Christmas or 20s to buy the same. Signature of lessee. Witnesses: Edmund Tomson and Benjamin Owtred, clerks of the bursars.
