Level
Item
Date

Content description
Draft of letter from Edward Brown, Eton College, to [the Provost]. He has examined into the extent of the copyholds in Blakenham, Chattisham and Creeting and finds them inconsiderable. "The last court which has come to the knowledge of the College was held in 1798", when the fines came to £69 6s 0d. "A former deputy steward upon being applied to respecting the business of the above Courts, gives as a reason for so little being done, that the copyholds are bought up by men of property who are not likely to alienate."
