East Wretham, Norfolk: Appointment of attorney
Item
19 May 1718
Appointment by the Provost and College of John Carter, gentleman, as their attorney to enter and take possession of the manor of East Wretham. John Crask, of Bury St Edmunds, gentleman, on 25 July 1716 received a lease of the said manor for 20 years. But as the rent is in arrears, and particularly one half year’s rent due at Lady day last, it is now legitimate by a proviso contained in the lease for the lessor to enter and take possession.
