Title
East Wretham, Norfolk: Letter concerning leasehold
Level
Item
Date
13 September 1801
Content description
John Ingram Lockhard, Sherfield House, to Rev. Mr Roberts. His father was honoured with Mr Roberts' letter yesterday relating to the arrears due on the leasehold estate at Wretham assigned to the writer (as trustee for his father and others) for the security of monies to be paid hereafter. "Mr Colhoun has met I have heard with some vary serious accident in his family, either the severe illness or sudden death of a very near relative which probably may have caused him to neglect this demand, or it may be that as the Leward Island Fleet, which annually brings him his sugars, has been delayed this year he may not have been prepared to answer the demand."
