Creeting, Suffolk
Series
The original endowment of the college included a farm and rent of £30 which Sir William Phelip paid for the custody of the alien priories of Creeting St Mary in Suffolk and Everdon in Northamptonshire, which he held on a ten year lease from Michaelmas 1437; with the reversion of the property. The grant was confirmed by Parliament and, in 1468, by Edward IV. The priory of Creeting St Mary was a cell of the Norman abbey of St Mary of Bernay.
