Creeting, Suffolk: Counterpart of lease

Counterpart of Indenture of lease, by the Provost and College, to Thomas Maw for £154 1s 6d and the surrender of his former lease, of that messuage or tenement together with all and every their mills commonly called Hawks mill, and millstones and materials belonging thereto, and the meadows and hams adjoining. Rent £6 8s 10d and 342 gallons of wheat and 474 gallons one pottle of malt, together with £5 in consideration of the redemption of Land Tax. From old Lady day last for 20 years.
Endorsement. Whereas Thomas Maw died before executing the foregoing, his executrix and executor, Lucy Maw, his widow, and Samuel Alexander Maw, his son, to whom he had bequeathed all his right in the premises, covenant to observe all the conditions of the foregoing lease. Signatures of Lucy and S.A. Maw and red wax seals.
