Exemplification, of a record on the Coram Rege Roll 17 Elizabeth H. (K.B.27/1252) rot. 241 concerning a plea of trespass Thomas Payne v. John Closse. It is compained that Closse entered and ploughed up the plaintiff's land of Creeting St Mary, also that he assaulted and beat the plaintiff until his life was despaired of. The defendant pleads not guilty and places himself upon the country. Verdict, guilty of the trespass but not of the assault. Damages and costs to the plaintiff £6 16s 8d.
